Over the years, many clients have asked me the same question – what is my 'style' as a decorator? And the answer is always the same – it doesn't really matter what my style is.
When clients engage my services, they are seeking assistance in achieving a specific look for their home, not mine. I prefer to leave no distinguishing 'signature' behind – but instead, to give the client an environment that reflects them; their life, their style, their personality.
I have clients who want their homes to ooze with the global feel of many cultures, while others prefer clean, contemporary, almost minimalist environments. Then there are those who are pure traditionalists; replete with tapestries and bullion fringe. As each client is different, so should their homes be different. In my mind, the essence of any good designer should be to listen and learn about their clients' desires for their home, and then make it happen.
So, if I have to call something my 'philosophy' it is simply this –
I listen to - and learn from - my clients. Then I help to create a home they will love – everyday.
Thank you for taking the time to explore the possibilities.
