Interior Design - Hourly
In-Home & Vendor Showroom Design Consultation $125/hour (In-home appointments, outside appointments for product selection) DISCOUNTED FOR RETAINER CLIENTS.
Furniture Floor Plans – scaled floor plan $50/each

Furniture Floor Plans - 3/D w/recommended furniture layout

$95 each (includes 3 views)

Product Research and Sourcing  (locating and/or specifying products or vendors)


Supervisory & Project Mgt.

$45/hour (installations, receiving/deliveries, project oversight) 

Travel Time 

0.50 per mile (more than 1 hr from office)

Because everyone's situation is different, we strive to remain flexible in our pricing policies in order to accommodate the various needs of our clientele.  Below, you will find other pricing options that fit many clients' needs.

Discount OpportunitiesHow can clients actually save money working with us?

Retainer –If working by retainer, you receive a discount on the standard design fee.   This scenario works well for those with ongoing projects or a single large project.  For example, if you have 3 rooms you need help with (furniture layout, selection of furnishings, window treatment design and specification, etc), you might need approximately 30-40 total hours of design/research assistance. This could save you hundreds of dollars by employing a retainer scenario.
While on retainer we pass on trade discounts with local retailers, where applicable.  Some retainer clients also have the opportunity to obtain volume discounts in the form of free in-home furniture delivery, free freight on accessory orders and other discounted services.  (Contact us for more information on volume discounts.)

Flat Fee – If working by Flat Fee, you have the comfort of knowing exactly how much your design assistance is going to cost.  A detailed 'Scope of Work' is outlined after a complete review of your project.  Then, specific tasks, time allotments and duties are delineated for each target area.  This works for individuals who know exactly what they need help with and can translate that into finite tasks.

Project Management and Cost Plus - Most often used by general contractors in remodeling and home building projects, The Custom Decorator also utilizes this concept for clients needing this pricing model.  Some clients require our assistance with project management duties for renovations, in addition to needing full interior design services.  These fees are calculated on a case by case basis after careful review of the scope of work at hand.  We also have established relationships with a full complement of skilled craftsmen and contractors so we're very often able to offer a 'turn-key' solution.
