Let’s bring your vision to life.

Learning this industry initially from a construction perspective has allowed me the ability to see beyond the pretty façade that is typically the primary focus of interior design. I know you can’t just ‘move a wall’ a few inches without considering all that goes into that decision.

After decades of designing kitchens, bathrooms and whole house renovations in collaboration with architects and contractors, I’ve come to know how to incorporate a great design aesthetic while achieving practical space planning in one cohesive project. I’m one of those lucky people who is very organized while also being highly creative.

Having also spent a decade in a retail furnishing setting as a freelance designer and writer afforded me the ability to stay on top of leading trends and styles. Daily interaction with vendors, manufacturers and representatives gave me a lot of insight into the furnishings industry that I still count on today.

Overall, I’d say that my strongest achievement is that I’m a good sounding board. I want to hear all the thoughts and dreams of my clients’ future space as they envision it. But even if they have difficulty articulating that vision, I’m still able to bring it out with thoughtful dialog. If my clients need gentle prodding or guidance throughout a project, I’m more than happy to bring those skills to the party.

A formal education can teach the mechanics of interior design and has its place in a designer’s toolbox. And although that is part of my experience, I feel that the years of practical application, knowledge gained through trial and error and individual client relationship building have been my biggest assets, and biggest rewards.

Let’s bring your vision to life.
